John entered the ski business after a career at P&G and consulting stints with Pepsi, Anheuser Busch, Gillette and Ralston Purina. At Crested Butte as VP Marketing, he introduced the first flight program in the mountains through a partnership with American Airlines. He also opened up lift-served extreme skiing. He then moved to Aspen where he was COO. He returned to Crested Butte as CEO, and sold the resort. His company, NortonGlobal, helps organizations drive fast change through work groups by focusing on personal leadership. He has done one TED talk that brushes on his work. He currently directs the Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association.
John loves all our mountain sports and is currently nursing broken ribs suffered in the first Fat Bike World Championships.
