Karl Kapuscinski is President and CEO of Mountain High Resorts, California, and part of the ownership group.  Karl started his ski industry career at age 13 as a snowmaker/freestyle instructor at Mt Ascutney, Vermont.  At 23 he became one of the youngest General Managers in the country overseeing Hunt Hollow, New York.  By 1993 Karl had become the Executive Director of Spirit Mountain located in Duluth Minnesota leading them to two record seasons in both visits and profitability.  In 1997 he coordinated the rebirth of Mountain High, one of Southern California’s most popular winter destinations.  From 2011 through this past August, Karl was President/CEO and owner of the management group overseeing Stevens Pass, Washington.  During this time Stevens Pass recorded record skier visits and profitability.  He has served as president of the California Ski Area Association, was a board member of the National Ski Area Association for six years, and was among the first recipients of the prestigious SAMMY award from Ski Area Management.  Karl is a respected leader and visionary in the winter sports industry.  As a long time advocate for ethnic diversity, he has a passion for introducing minorities to winter sports.  This season he lead the creation of the Yeti Snow Park, Mountain High’s newest snow attraction, which has experienced more than 80% ethnic visitation.
