North Lake Tahoe, which spans two states, California and Nevada, is surrounded by the massive granite peaks of the Sierra Nevada, with skies reflecting into the largest alpine lake in North America. With 11 downhill ski resorts, 10 cross-country ski areas, 12 unique towns to explore, two dozen beaches, and hundreds of miles of biking and hiking trails, you can enjoy an adventure at both the mountains and the lake year-round.
Major renovations happened at many of the 11 ski resorts in the 22/23 season, including new lifts and new terrain. Palisades Tahoe is now the third largest ski resort in North America after launching the new base-to-base gondola, which connects Alpine Meadows with Olympic Valley. From beginner trails to double black diamond experiences for both skiers and snowboarders, North Lake Tahoe is a world-renowned destination with awe-inspiring beauty.
